The Challenges of Living Together

What Challenges?

Bryce and I moved into our new apartment on the night of September 25th officially. The two weeks prior we had been moving stuff back and forth from his house and my house to our apartment. I am still moving stuff. So far, Bryce and I have done really well living together. We survived our first major grocery shopping trip to WinCo and I think we have enough food to last us a few months (Thanks Mom and Dad!). We have worked out a good system of how to get to school and save on gas...less money to spend!!

So what are these "Challenges"?
Let me tell you.

So we didn't have hot water in our apartment the first night we stayed there. Luckily the maintenance guy showed up bright and early on Monday to fix it! Good thing too because I did not want to go to work with greasy hair!! We hurtled that little obstacle!

The 2nd Challenge! I went to start a load of laundry (Thank goodness we have a washer and dryer in our unit!) and I noticed thick, rusty water all over the ground. Our washer and dryer are in a little closet with the hot water heater. I knew that the nasty water hadn't been there before, but it was after 5 o'clock so we had to wait till the next morning to call maintenance. When maintenance showed up the next day, they informed Bryce that we had "caught the problem right in time." In time of what? Our hot water heater's bottom was rusting away and within a few days we would have had 50 gallons of water in our living room! I am so happy we didn't have that happen!

So now we move onto challenge number 3! Our neighbors have a thousand cats!! Well more like 4 or 5 to be realistic, but it's still a lot! These lovely cats like to sleep on top of cars...kinda cute, right? No. They are leaving little dirty paw prints all over our cars! So I made a comment to Bryce one day, while walking to his Truck, that "Who the hell do these cats think they are to be all over his truck!" I said it kinda quitely but I was pretty ticked off. I turned around to notice our neighbor's door was open (crazy cat people!) but I wasn't sure if they had heard me... Well I am pretty sure they did, because a few days later, the crazy cat lady was outside and when I came out, she very nicely told her cat to "Leave the young lady next door alone." It made me laugh a little.

The is a FOURTH challenge! They are tiny. They are black. They crawl around. They are SUGAR ANTS! Yes, SUGAR ANTS! They took home in our kitchen yesterday morning. Ants are disgusting and only live to die essentially. That is exactly what my little ant friends are doing currently. Bryce and I went out and bough ant poison last night and left for our little friends. I am hoping they are gone within a few days.

You probably think that is all the challenges we have had in our mere 2 weeks and 2 days of living together, but there is still one more challenge.

Our other neighbors have thousands of cars! (One has cats, the other has cars!) So there are two identical white cars that are tricked out pretty nice. One has red rims, the other has blue. Okay, so two cars is understandable. THEN there is a little silver sports car, a silver truck, a motorcycle, and a coupe of other various cars that show up every once and awhile. I personally think our neighbors are drug dealers...their cars are REALLY NICE and we live in CHEAP apartments! So every night after work or school, Bryce or I have the challenge of parking (we have one reserved spot). Sometimes we get lucky, but other times...I could go hit that little silver sports car!

There you have it, the challenges of living together. There might be a sequel...there might not be! Here are some random pictures that I found today while on Pinterest (Jessica got me hooked!)
